LE MOYNE VOLLEYBALL SELECTED EIGHTH IN NE-10 PRESEASON POLL

South Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College volleyball team has been selected to finish eighth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, as voted on by the league’s 15 head coaches. Bentley College, which finished second in the regular season one year ago, was picked to win the league title after receiving 12 of the possible 15 first-place votes for 221 total points, as announced by the conference on Thursday, Aug. 21. LE MOYNE WOMEN’S SOCCER SELECTED NINTH IN NE-10 PRESEASON POLL

South Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College women’s soccer team has been selected to finish ninth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, as voted on by the league’s 15 head coaches. Franklin Pierce University, the national runner-up one year ago, was picked to win the league title after receiving eight of the possible 15 first-place votes for 218 total points, as announced by the conference on Wednesday, Aug. 20. South Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men’s soccer team has been selected to finish fourth in the Northeast-10 Conference standings, as voted on by the league’s 14 head coaches. Franklin Pierce University, the defending national champion, was picked to win its fourth consecutive regular season title and received 13 of the possible 14 first-place votes for 195 total points, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, Aug. 19. 2008 Le Moyne College Gold Wave Open

Marcellus, NY – Le Moyne College and the Gold Wave held the 28th Annual Gold Wave Open on Monday, August 11th at the Tuscarora Golf Club in Marcellus, NY. Thirty-eight foursomes hit the links for a day of golf in support of Le Moyne College athletics. In the tournament’s history, over a half million dollars has been generated to support scholarships, enhance facility and fuel the ever-growing achievements of Le Moyne College student-athletes. KAWZENUK AND SIEROTNIK NAMED TO IWLCA ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL

Syracuse, N.Y. – Le Moyne College women’s lacrosse seniors Kristin Kawzenuk and Elizabeth Sierotnik have been named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll for the 2008 season. The selection marks the second consecutive year Kawzenuk and Sierotnik have been honored by the IWLCA for their academic achievements. To qualify, student-athletes must have reached at least junior year status and achieve a minimum GPA of 3.2. [more]

BEAULAC'S 98 MPH FASTBALL DAZZELS FANS IN FIRST PROFESSIONAL START

Former Le Moyne College stand-out Eric Beaulac took the mound for his first professional start on July 15th for the Kingsport Mets. The right-hander pitched four innings and allowed one first-inning run. Beaulac struck out four and electrified the crowd as his fastball was clocked at 98 miles per hour. LE MOYNE UNVEILS NEW TED GRANT COURT DESIGN

SYRACUSE, NY – The Le Moyne volleyball and basketball teams will take the floor next fall on a court with a brand new look. The athletic department unveiled the new court design for Ted Grant Court featuring the program’s new logo. The design also features an extended 3-point line for men’s basketball as well as a pair of Northeast-10 (NE-10) logos in the paint. [more]

MATT NANDIN & CHRIS EDMONDSON SELECTED TO THE 15TH ANNUAL NECBL ALL-STAR GAME

Le Moyne's Matt Nandin and Chris Edmondson have been selected to the NECBL All-Star game on June 20th. Nandin will get the start at shortstop for the North Division after hitting .361 in 25 games for the Sanford Mariners. Outfielder Chris Edmondson will start for the South Division after hitting .364 for the Pittsfield Dukes with a league leading 25 runs and 40 hits. THIRTY-THREE LE MOYNE STUDENT-ATHLETES HONORED IN 2007-08 COMMISSIONER'S HONOR ROLL

South Easton, MA - Thirty-three Le Moyne College student-athletes were honored as members of the 2007-08 NE-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll. In total, 756 student-athletes across the conference earned the honor. The Commissioner's Honor Roll is determined and submitted by each institution's Faculty Athletic Representative as the award recognizes student-athlete achievement in the classroom. [more]

MIKE AFFRONTI '06 ELEVATED TO TRIPLE-A AFFLIATE OF OAKLAND A'S

Following a 14-game stint with the Midland Rockhouds, the double-A affiliate of the Oakland A's, former Le Moyne standout Mike Affronti ‘06 was elevated to triple-A and the Sacramento Rivercats. He is the second former Dolphin to reach the level this summer as former pitcher Matt Scherer ‘04 joined the Memphis Redbirds (St. Louis Cardinals). Former Le Moyne College standout Andy Parrino was selected to the Midwest League All-Star Game in his second season of professional baseball. Chosen by the San Diego Padres in the 2007 MLB Draft, Parrino is a member of the Fort Wayne Wizards and is highlighted in an article by LaMond Pope of The Journal Gazette. [more]

ERIC BEAULAC SELECTED BY THE NEW YORK METS IN THE 9TH ROUND OF THE MLB AMATEUR DRAFT.

SYRACUSE, NY- Junior standout Eric Beaulac (Troy, NY) was selected by the New York Mets in the 9th round (284th overall) of the Major League Baseball Draft and becomes the 31st player and 20th pitcher in Le Moyne history to be chosen in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft. [more]
