Bob Nandin joined the Dolphins as an assistant baseball coach in 1997. Nandin, a former Triple AAA infielder, works with the hitters and the infielders.
A native of Queens, N.Y., he played at New York Tech in Old Westbury and was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1978. While with the Detroit organization, Nandin continually progressed through the Tigers' minor league system. He was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays in 1982.
Nandin spent the 1982 and 1983 season with the Syracuse Chiefs, the Blue Jays' Class AAA affiliate. The Syracuse fans recognized his play as he was voted to the "All-Time Chiefs Team" in a poll conducted by the Syracuse newspapers.
Nandin continued his career with both the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers organizations before retiring in 1986.
After his career as a player ended, he made the move into
coaching. Nandin served as a coach with the Blue Jays rookie-league
team in Medicine Hat in Alberta, Canada.
Nandin's son Matt is a Junior infielder with the
Dolphins.
