In just one season as the head women's soccer coach at Le Moyne
College, Jimmy Riverso has already made his mark
on the program. Riverso, a former standout on the Le Moyne men's
soccer team, served as the program's top assistant for the 2003-05
seasons.
Riverso guided a young team to its first Northeast-10 Conference
tournament appearance since 2000. The Dolphins posted an 8-8-1
record overall and went 6-7-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Under
Riverso's direction freshman striker Christina Harrison became the
program's first all-Northeast-10 Conference first team selection.
The Dolphins were 6-2-1 at home in 2006.
In addition to his three seasons with the Dolphins, Riverso has
spent the last two years as a staff coach with the Syracuse
Football Club. He also served as the head coach for the Bishop
Ludden modified boy's team for the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
Riverso put together a distinguished playing career with the
Dolphins. A four-year letter winner, Riverso was named all-region
and second-team all-Northeast-10 Conference in 2000 and 2001. He
served as a team captain in his senior season. The Dolphins won 11
games in his final season, sparking a program-record streak of five
consecutive seasons of double-digit wins under head coach Tom
Bonus. Riverso played his high school soccer at Christian Brothers
Academy.
Before returning to his alma mater, Riverso began his professional
career as a case manager for the Big Brothers, Big Sisters program
at P.E.A.C.E. Inc.
Riverso graduated from Le Moyne College with a degree in Sociology
in 2002 and received his Masters Degree in Education from Le Moyne
in 2005.
