Scott Peterson joined the Le Moyne College Athletic Department in August of 1996. As the Head Athletic Trainer, he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sports medicine coverage for the student-athletes, including prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses. Peterson also serves as coordinator of the drug testing program, the campuses Public Access Defibrillation Program, and handles all insurance claim procedures.

A 1994 graduate of Le Moyne College, Peterson earned his BA in Biology. He then attended Illinois State University, receiving his Masters of Science degree in Athletic Training. While at ISU, he served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, providing coverage for men's soccer, wrestling and softball.

Peterson is a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification, and is a registered Athletic Trainer with the New York State Department of Education. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association, Eastern Athletic Trainers Association, New York State Athletic Trainers Association, and the Wilderness Medical Society.

An active volunteer with the De Witt Fire Department, Peterson serves as a firefighter and Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician. He holds certifications in Advanced Medical Life Support.

Peterson resides in Syracuse.
