TEN LE MOYNE STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED T0 ALL-NORTHEAST-10 ACADEMIC TEAMS FOR THE WINTER AND SPRING SEASON.

SYRACUSE, NY – As announced by the Northeast-10 Conference, 10 Le Moyne College student-athletes have been named to their respective All-Academic teams for the winter and spring playing seasons. With five selections in the fall, a total of 15 Dolphins have been honored with these prestigious awards.

Vanessa Holden, Senior, Women’s Basketball
Holden ranked second on the team in scoring (12.1 ppg) and rebounds (7.3) as a starter in all 28 games for the Dolphins. Holden recorded a career high 27 points against Southern Connecticut and scored in double figures in 19 games in her final campaign on the Heights. Holden graduates ranking in the top-ten in blocks (86) and rebounds (606) and is Le Moyne’s all-time leader in free throw percentage at 80.8.

Meghan Nugent, Senior, Women’s Swimming & Diving
A member of the Le Moyne Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Nugent recorded an ‘NCAA B Cut’ time of 2:07.09 in the 200-yard butterfly in placing third in the UNYSCSA meet this spring. Additionally, she placed second in the 1650-yard freestyle, third in the 100-butterfly and fourth in the 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard butterfly at the NE-10 Championships.

Alex Baker, Senior, Men’s Swimming & Diving
Baker turned in a season-best time of 30.95 in the 50-year breaststroke in a dual meet with Hamilton and finished the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:38.64 at the NE-10 Championships. Baker was also a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Zach Hisert, Senior, Men’s Swimming & Diving
A four-time NE-10 Diving Athlete of the Week, Hisert scored a season-best 270.40 points in the 3-meter diving event at the NE-10 Championship. He posted a season high 257.80 points in the 1-meter event in a dual meet against Hamilton. A member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Hister registered a time of 1:53.19 in the 200-yard freestyle at the NE-10 Championships.

Tyler Sennett, Sophomore, Men’s Lacrosse
Appearing in all 17 games for the Dolphins, Sennett scored nine goals and dished out one assist in helping the Dolphins to an NE-10 Championship and their fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship Game. Sennett scored a career-high four goals in a victory over Franklin Pierce.

Jack Venditti, Sophomore, Men’s Lacrosse
A second-team All-NE-10 selection, was fourth on the team in scoring with 34 points on 20 goals and 14 assists. Venditti shined late in the season with four goals against Merrimack in the NE-10 Championship game and once again against the Warriors in the NCAA Semifinal.

Jennifer Farrelly, Senior, Softball
The 2009 NE-10 Conference and Daktronics East Region Player of the Year, Farrelly was a first-team All-NE-10 and All-Region selection. She hit a team-high .364 with nine home runs, 14 doubles, 45 runs batted in and scored 29 runs. In the circle, she posted an 18-5 record with a 1.42 ERA and 139 strikeouts in 167.2 innings pitched. She established a new career record with 10 saves and was named the 2009 Le Moyne College Women Athlete of the Year at the annual Student-Athlete Awards this spring.

Bailey Phillips, Junior, Softball
A second-team All-NE-10 and Daktronics All-East Region selection, Phillips hit .341 with eight doubles, 32 runs scored and 11 runs batted in. A starter in all 53 games for the NCAA East Regional Champions, Phillips finished the season ranked fifth in the NE-10 in hits and tied for eighth in runs scored.

Kelly Schwiekert, Junior, Softball
A first-team All-NE-10 and Daktronics All-Region selection, Schweikert was named the Northeast-10 Championship MVP while hitting .358 with nine home runs, 17 doubles and 41 runs batted in. In ’09, she set a new single-season stolen base record with 28 bases and led the league in runs, doubles and stolen bases. Schweikert is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Ben Jordan, Senior, Men’s Tennis
A second-team All-NE-10 selection in sixth singles, Jordan posted a record of 5-4 in singles action, including a 4-2 mark against NE-10 opponents. Jordan, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, ended the season with five straight victories in singles and closed out the regular season with four straight doubles wins.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
