LE MOYNE OUTHITS ORAL ROBERTS 11-10, DESPITE LOSING 10-6.

TULSA, OK- The Dolphins dropped the second game of a three game series to Oral Roberts 10-6 on Saturday. The loss drops the Dolphins to (2-4), while improving the Golden Eagles to (6-0). The Dolphins look to win the finale of the three game series Sunday.

The Golden Eagles struck for the game’s first run with an early double by Juan Martinez down the left field line bringing in Ryan Groth. The Dolphins responded immediately in the top half of the third inning as junior Chris Haynes delivered a double down the left field line scoring Sean Piano. The Dolphins plated two more runs in the top of the fourth inning as senior Phil St. Amant started the inning off with a two out double down the left field line. Senior Corey O’Neill followed with a two run blasts over the left center wall for his first home run of the season, which put the Dolphins ahead 3-1.

Following a Juan Martinez two-RBI double, sophomore Luke Nellis relieved started T.J. Sheridan in the bottom of the fourth inning. Nellis quickly struck out the first Golden Eagle he faced. A Golden eagle’s single followed by a Nellis wild pitch pushed three more across the plate to push the lead to 6-3.

The Dolphins crawled there way back in the top half of the sixth inning tying the game at six. Matt Nandin, who delivered his fourth multi-hit game of the season, delivered a single that scored St. Amant who previously doubled.

The Golden Eagles pulled away and put the game out of reach by adding on four more runs in the bottom half of the sixth. Carlos Luna came in relief for the Golden Eagles and picked up the win after four innings of work. Luna recorded six strikeouts on four hits.

The Dolphins will play the last of their three game series with the Golden Eagles Sunday at 12:30 (EST) at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
