DOLPHINS DROP BOTH GAMES TO KANSAS STATE; LE MOYNE WRAPS UP THE FOUR GAME SERIES TAKING ONE GAME FROM THE WILDCATS.

MANHATTAN, K.S. -The Dolphins would lose both games in the scheduled double header against the Wildcats.  Sophomore Daniel Tunison would suffer the 4-3 loss in the first of two games. Tunison struck out seven batters, giving up four earned runs on five hits, through 6.1 innings of work. The Dolphins were led offensively by Stephen Crawford's multi-hit game (3-4, RBI). Despite freshman pitcher Cory Nelson's impressive performance allowing two earned runs through six innings of work, the Dolphins would lose their second game 10-1. The losses would drop the Dolphins to 3-10 overall.

It was all Wildcats, leading 1-0 heading into the top of the third inning when the Dolphins would get their bats going. Senior Robert Perez would steal second to get into scoring position. Crawford would single to left field scoring Perez, tying the game at one. With Perez on second, who advanced on the throw after his single, Matt Nandin would knock Perez in and claim a 2-1 lead.

The Wildcats would generate two runs in the bottom half of the third to take the lead 3-2. The Dolphins would tie the game at three in the top of the fifth with a Corey O'Neil RBI. It was Yelovich who would drive a double down the left field line off of Tunison to give the Wildcats a 4-3 lead and never look back. Sophomore Tom Mcdermott would hold the Wildcats to zero runs on 1.2 innings of work. Unfortunately, the Dolphins were unable to generate any run support for McDermott. Tunison would suffer the loss.
