CRAWFORD KEYS DOLPHIN ATTACK TO 15-5 VICTORY OVER HOLY
CROSS
WORCHESTER, MA – Senior Stephen Crawford led
the Dolphin attack that produced a season high in runs in a 15-5
victory over Holy Cross on Thursday. Crawford was 4-for-5 at the
plate with four runs and five RBI and has hit safely in his last 11
games. Le Moyne’s fourth straight victory improves their
record to 7-10 on the year. Holy Cross drops to 4-10.
The Dolphins would get on the scoreboard early and often. Crawford
keyed the attack in the bottom of the first with a lead-off single.
He would later score in the first on a single by fellow senior
Phil St. Amant.
Crawford would strike again in the bottom of the second with a
two-out double to drive in Robby Perez. He would
later score on an RBI double by Matt Nandin.
The Dolphins would put the game out of reach in the middle innings
as Crawford connected for a two-run, two-out home run to push the
lead to 6-0. Holy Cross would scratch together three runs in the
bottom half of the fourth, but a four run outburst by the Dolphins
in the top half of the fifth would propel the Dolphins to
victory.
Freshman Cory Nelson would pick up his first
career victory as the Dolphins used seven different pitchers on the
afternoon.
For the fifth time this season, Matt Nandin collected three hits in
a game. Mike Brown was also 3-for-5 at the plate
and has hit safely in his last four games. St. Amant and
Sean Paino both collected two hits each as every
Dolphin in the batting order reached base safely.
Le Moyne opens their home schedule on Saturday, March 22nd as they
host Canisius at Dick Rockwell Field at noon.
