ST. AMANT & PEREZ POWER LE MOYNE PAST MARIST 11-7
SYRACUSE, NY - Le Moyne seniors Phil St. Amant and Robby Perez each
connected for two home runs to power the Le Moyne Dolphins past
Marist 11-7 in the final game of a three game set. Le Moyne (19-16)
has won their last eight games dropping Marist (14-19) in three
games this weekend.
Marist’s Ricky Pacione gave the Red Foxes a 1-0 lead in the
top of the first innings as he connected for his first of two home
runs as he took Le Moyne starter Dan Tunison over the left center
field wall. The Dolphins bounced back in the bottom half of the
inning as Stephen Crawford led off with a double and scored on a
single by Matt Nandin. Nandin came around to score on an RBI
groundout by Chris Edmondson.
The Dolphins bats would stay hot in bottom half of the second as
Perez connected for his first home run of the day over the
right-center field wall. Following singles by Chris Murphy and
Crawford, Nandin plated two runs a double to right-center
field.
Phil St. Amant would lead off the Dolphin half of the third with a
blast to left field. Following Perez’s towering home run to
right-center, the Dolphins took a commanding 8-1 lead after three
innings.
The Dolphins pushed their lead to 10-1 after RBI singles by Chris
Haynes and Sean Paino.
The Red Foxes would scratch for two runs of starter Dan Tunison in
the top of the fifth as Bryce Nugent and Richard Curylo connected
for RBI hits. Marist would tack on a run in the sixth on a Brian
McDonough scored on a Tom McDermott wild pitch and Kenny Anderson
drove a Phil St. Amant pitch over the centerfield wall.
St. Amant would atone with his second home run of the day on a
blast to right field.
Luke Nellis would earn his sixth save of the year out of the
bullpen as he pitched two scoreless innings. Dan Tunison earned his
second win of the season pitching five innings, allowing three runs
and striking out two.
For Le Moyne, St. Amant and Murphy each collected three hits each.
Crawford, Nandin, Haynes, Paino and Perez all collected two hits a
piece to pass the 18 hit-attack.
Le Moyne returns to Dick Rockwell Field on Tuesday, April 22nd as
they face the University at Albany at 4:00 PM.
