LE MOYNE TRAVELS TO TEXAS PAN AMERICAN FOR NATIONAL
INDEPENDENT TOURNAMENT
The Le Moyne College baseball team will travel to the campus of
Texas Pan American for the 2008 National Independent Tournament
that will begin on Wednesday, May 21st. The Dolphins will be in
action on Thursday, May 22nd as they take on Northern Colorado at
3:00 PM. Le Moyne is 30-20 on the season and has won their last
seven games following a weekend sweep of Rider and doubleheader
sweep of Iona last Thursday.
Le Moyne is led on offense by sophomore Chris Edmondson who has
compiled a .360 batting average with 14 home runs and 63
RBI’s. His 14 home runs are tied for the program single
season record. Junior Matt Nandin is tied with Edmondson for the
team -lead with a .360 average with a team high 73 hits.
Currently, 11 Dolphins hold a batting average of .300 or better to
pace an offense that ranks 12th nationally in batting average with
a .333 average. LeMoyne also ranks 7th nationally in doubles per
game.
Hard-throwing Eric Beaulac leads the Dolphin pitching staff with an
8-2 record in 13 starts. The right-hander has struck out 101
batters in 85.1 innings. With four more strikeouts, Beaulac will
set the single season strikeout record. The record is currently
held by Bobby Blevins with 104 K’s in 2007. Beaulac ranks 6th
nationally in hits allowed per nine innings (5.59) and 16th in
strikeouts.
