Le Moyne Athletics : Dan McCarthy named NE-10 Golfer of the Week for second consecutive week

GOLF: DAN MCCARTHY NAMED NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE GOLFER OF THE WEEK FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE WEEK

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior Dan McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week. McCarthy finished atop the leaderboard in his third straight college tournament, then finished third in another.

He fired an even-par 72 to tie for the top spot in Le Moyne’s Mike Bello Invitational and shot a two-day, three-under 143 for third place at the Dowling September Shootout. McCarthy won a four-hole sudden-victory playoff to take the Mike Bello top individual honor.

Le Moyne hosts championship golf tournaments each of the next two weekends. The Northeast-10 Conference Championship will be contested Saturday and Sunday at the Links at Sunset Ridge in Marcellus, while Oct. 2-3 the ECAC Championship will be played at the Liverpool Golf Club.
