MCCARTHY WINS SECOND CONSECUTIVE TOURNAMENT, DOLPHINS FINISH SIXTH AT ST. THOMAS AQUINAS SPRING INVITATIONAL

Ocean City, MD - Junior Dan McCarthy (Syracuse, N.Y./CBA) shot an even par 144 to finish first, for the second consecutive week, at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational at Rum Pointe Golf Club in Ocean City, MD. Pace University took the top team honors with a combined score of 609 (295-314). Le Moyne finished in sixth place with a team score of 634 (308-326).

McCarthy finished the first round tied for third with a 73 (+1) and followed it up with a low round of 71 (-1) on the second day. Tom Floramonti of St. Thomas Aquinas and Mike Dominici of Pace University topped the first round leader board after posting a round of 71(-1).

McCarthy has won four of eight tournaments this season and placed in the top three a total of six times. He won the Colgate Invitational and the Mike Bello Invitational, the first two events of the fall season, and has topped the field in the first two spring invitationals. McCarthy shot a 5-over par 149 to win the Goldey-Beacom College Invitational last week. He has a scoring average of 73.2 strokes per round, which is +1 relative to par, for the season.

The Dolphins return to the links to play at the Pine Hills Country Club April 2-3 for the Dowling College Invitational.
