GOLF: LE MOYNE PLACES 12TH AT POST UNIVERSITY'S EAGLE SHOOTOUT

Bloomfield, Conn. - Junior Tim Martins (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) fired a 160 to lead the Le Moyne College men's golf team to a 12th-place finish with a two-day score of 652 at Post University's Eagle Shootout on Sunday and Monday at the 6,711-yard, par-70 Wintonbury Hills Golf Course. Adelphi won the team competition with a two-round score of 600, while Saint Rose's Matt Horton claimed medalist honors with a five-over par 145.

Martins opened the shootout with an 84 on Sunday and carded a 76 in the second round on Monday to finish in a tie for 30th. Classmate Brian Tischler (Westlake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) registered a 164 on rounds of 85 and 79 to place in a tie for 42nd, while Will Schwartz (Avon Lake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) recorded rounds of 83 and 82 for a 165 and a tie for 46th place. Freshmen Chris Webber (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) and Anthony Viskovich (Massena, N.Y./Massena) rounded out Le Moyne's with scores of 166 (86-80) and 167 (83-84) to place 49th and 50th, respectively.

Le Moyne closes out the fall portion of its schedule on Sunday, Oct. 12 and Monday, Oct. 13 at Manchester Country Club for the Southern New Hampshire Invitational.
