GOLF: DOLPHINS FINISH FOURTH AT NORTHEAST-10 CHAMPIONSHIP

Bernardston, Mass. - Senior Tim Martins (Cortland, N.Y./Cortland) and sophomore Kevin Jackson (Chittenango, N.Y./Chittenango) tied for 11th place to lead the Le Moyne College golf team to a fourth-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship at the par 72, 7,007-yard Crumpin' Fox Golf Club on Sunday and Monday. The Dolphins, who won last year's Championship, finished the tournament with a 634 on rounds of 328 and 306. Adelphi University, competing in the Championship for the first time, won the team title with a two-round score of 620. Southern New Hampshire's Shane Winslow earned medalist honors after outlasting Adelphi's Stuart Pulkinen in a three-hole playoff.

Jackson, who earned medalist honors as well as being named the Conference's Player and Freshman of the Year at last year's Championship, opened the Championship with an 81 to tie for 23rd after the first round and shot a 75 in the second round to post a 12-over par 156. Martins carded an 83 on Sunday as the Dolphins ended the round in eighth place. Martins bounced back on Monday with a 73 to tie for the round's top score. Sophomore Chris Sova (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) finished in a tie for 19th place with a 160 on rounds of 79 and 81. Sophomore Anthony Viskovich (Massena, N.Y./Massena) recorded rounds of 87 and 77 for a 164 to place in a five-way tie for 30th. Junior Andy Lloyd (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) placed in a tie for 45th after shooting an 85 in the first round and an 83 on the second day for a 168.

Le Moyne returns to the links on Saturday at Downing Golf Course in Erie, Pa. for the Mercyhurst Invitational.
