FIVE DOLPHINS IN DOUBLE-FIGURES AS LE MOYNE CAPTURES ROAD VICTORY OVER SNHU.

MANCHESTER, NH -  The Le Moyne men's basketball team avenges an early season loss to Southern New Hampshire and defeated the Penmen 78-75 at the SNHU Fieldhouse on Tuesday. Winners of five of their last six games, the Dolphins used double-figures from five different players to improve to 14-12, 12-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Southern New Hampshire falls to 12-13, 9-11 in the NE-10.

Leading by as many as nine in the first half, the Dolphins used the hot-hand of Matt Vassil and Dan Cromwell to build a 41-36 halftime lead. The Dolphins connected on 17 of 26 in the first half for a shooting percentage of 65.4%.

The Dolphins continued their strong offensive play during the second half as they stretched their lead to as many as 11 on three occasions during the second period. Leading 73-62 with four minutes remaining, the Penmen went on a 10-1 run to pull within two points at 74-72 with 1:25 to play. After stretching the lead to four on a free-throws from Jonathan Joshua and Damani Corbin, Southern New Hampshire pulled within one point at 76-75 on Fotis Lioutas' second 3-pointer of the day. Strong defense and free-throws from Joshua down the stretch sealed the victory.

The Dolphins overcame a strong performance by SNHU's Sam Carey who netted a career-high 33 points on 12 of 20 shooting.  Laurence Ekperigin led the way for the Dolphins with 17 points and five rebounds. Corbin added 16 points off the bench, highlighted by a number of electrifying dunks.  Cromwell added 12 points, while Joshua and Vassil netted 11 points each.

The Dolphins wrap up their regular season on Saturday, February 23^rd as they travel to take on Pace at 3:30 PM.
