EKPERIGIN NAMED ALL NORTHEAST-10 FIRST TEAM; HOLMES TABBED AS CONFERENCE'S TOP DEFENDER

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Laurence Ekperigin earned All Northeast-10 Conference First Team honors and Jason Holmes was named Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Ekperigin led the Dolphins in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.4 points and 8.5 boards. Holmes joined Le Moyne College's 1,000-point club and set the school's all-time steals mark this season.

Ekperigin, a member of the Northeast-10 Conference All Rookie Team last season, emerged as one of the conference's premiere big men during his sophomore campaign. He collected eleven double-doubles on the season and set single game career-highs in points (29 against No. 1 Bentley) and rebounds (17 against St. Anselm). Statistically, he ranked third in field goal percentage, fifth in rebounding and sixth in scoring in the Norteast-10 Conference.

Holmes capped his career on the Heights with perhaps his finest all-around season. The senior ranked ninth in the conference in scoring with 14.8 points per contest and fourth in steals with 2.14 per game. He constantly guarded the opposite team's toughest backcourt assignment. Despite playing the off-guard position, he averaged five rebounds and 3.2 assists per game.

Le Moyne fell to No. 1 Bentley, 67-64 in overtime, in the Northeast-10 Conference Quaterfinals. The Dolphins finished 15-14 overall, 12-10 in the Northeast-10 and 11-3 at Ted Grant Court for the 2007-08 campaign.
