MBB: EKPERIGIN EARNS SIXTH NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE
WEEK HONORS
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College junior forward
Laurence Ekperigin (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter
Panas) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference men's
basketball player of the week, as announced by the conference
office on Monday afternoon.
Ekperigin, named the conference's player of the week for the sixth
time this season, averaged 18 points, 11.5 rebounds and three
blocks per game in leading the Dolphins to a pair of conference
victories. Ekperigin scored 20 points, pulled down 11 rebounds and
blocked three shots in a 74-53 victory over Pace last Wednesday.
With his 10th point of the contest, Ekperigin became the 20th
player in the program's history to score 1,200 career points.
Ekperigin closed the week with 16 points (14 in the first half), 12
rebounds and three blocks in a 76-43 home win over Southern
Connecticut State on Saturday. Ekperigin has scored in
double-figures in 17 consecutive games and has recorded 16
double-doubles on the season.
Le Moyne (13-10, NE-10 9-9), winners of four straight and six of
its last seven games, returns to action on Tuesday in Albany, N.Y.
against The College of Saint Rose at 7:30 p.m. The Golden Knights
hold a half-game advantage over the Dolphins for seventh place in
the Northeast-10 Conference standings. The game can be viewed live
