LAURENCE EKPERIGIN SELECTED TO 2007-2008 NCAA DIVISION II MEN’S BASKETBALL NORTHEAST ALL-REGION TEAM.

ALBANY, N.Y. – The 2007-08 Daktronics NCAA Division II men’s basketball All-Northeast Region squad has a decidedly different look to it with eight new players from a year ago, including four sophomores. Sports Information Directors throughout the Northeast Region conducted the voting. [more]

EKPERIGIN NAMED ALL NORTHEAST-10 FIRST TEAM; HOLMES TABBED AS CONFERENCE’S TOP DEFENDER

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Laurence Ekperigin earned All Northeast-10 Conference First Team honors and Jason Holmes was named Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Ekperigin led the Dolphins in scoring and rebounding with averages of 17.4 points and 8.5 boards. Holmes joined Le Moyne College’s 1,000-point club and set the school’s all-time steals mark this season. [more]

SURVIVE AND ADVANCE; #1 BENTLEY EDGES LE MOYNE IN OVERTIME 67-64

WALTHAM, MASS. – The Le Moyne men’s basketball team nearly knocked off #1 Bentley and pushed the undefeated Falcons to overtime for the second time this season in the quarter final round of the NE-10 Tournament. A three-pointer at the buzzer by senior Jason Holmes pushed the game to overtime, but a late three-point play by Jason Westrol would propel Bentley to 67-64 victory. [more]

DOLPHINS DROP HAWKS IN FIRST-ROUND PLAYOFF ACTION, 75-70, BEHIND CROMWELL’S DOUBLE-DOUBLE

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Le Moyne College men’s basketball team knocked off St. Anselm for the third time this season, 75-70, in Northeast-10 Conference first round playoff action at Ted Grant Court. The Dolphins (15-13, 12-10 NE-10) will travel to Waltham, Mass. on Monday to square off with the nation’s No. 1 team, Bentley College. Dan Cromwell’s 21 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks paced Le Moyne. The Hawks (13-14, 11-11 NE-10) were led by Thomas Baudinet’s 26 points and eight three-pointers. [more]

NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE ANNOUNCES FIRST ROUND MATCH-UPS FOR BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

SOUTH EASTON, MA - The Northeast-10 Conference has announced the first round pairing for the 2008 NE-10 Basketball Championships. On Saturday, March 1st, the #8 men will host #9 St. Anselm at 2:00 PM. The #7 women will be in action the following day, Sunday, March 2nd as they host #10 Southern New Hampshire at 2:00 PM. PACE USES SECOND-HALF SURGE TO DOWN LE MOYNE 80-72

Pleasanteville, NY – The Pace Setters used a strong second-half to defeat Le Moyne College on Saturday at the Goldstein Center. With the loss, Le Moyne finishes the regular season at 14-13, 12-10 in the Northeast-10 Conference play. The Dolphins will now prepare for the NE-10 Conference Tournament that will begin on March 1st. Pace and Le Moyne split their season series as the Dolphins knocked off the Setter 18 days earlier 73-72. [more]

FIVE DOLPHINS IN DOUBLE-FIGURES AS LE MOYNE CAPTURES ROAD VICTORY OVER SNHU.

MANCHESTER, NH – The Le Moyne men’s basketball team avenges an early season loss to Southern New Hampshire and defeated the Penmen 78-75 at the SNHU Fieldhouse on Tuesday. Winners of five of their last six games, the Dolphins used double-figures from five different players to improve to 14-12, 12-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Southern New Hampshire falls to 12-13, 9-11 in the NE-10. [more]

DOLPHINS DROP HAWKS IN OVERTIME, 86-84, BEHIND CAREER-HIGH FROM HOLMES

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Jason Holmes and Laurence Ekperigin combined for 58 points as the Le Moyne College men’s basketball team used a second-half surge to knock off St. Anselm College, 86-84, in Northeast-10 Conference overtime action at Ted Grant Court. Holmes netted a career-high 33 points for the Dolphins (13-12, 11-9 NE-10) and Chris Vetrano scored 26 points on the strength of eight-three pointers for the Hawks (11-13, 9-11 NE-10). [more]

LOWELL, MA - UMass-Lowell used a strong second half to erase a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Le Moyne 59-53 at the Costello Athletic Center. With the loss, Le Moyne falls to 12-12 overall, 10-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference. UMass-Lowell improves to 9-12, 6-10 in the NE-10. [more]
