Matt Juriga is one game away from being on a national championship team.
Juriga, a Chenango Forks graduate, is a junior defender on the Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team that is playing for the NCAA Division II championship this weekend in Philadelphia. The Dolphins are scheduled to play Dowling at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Juriga is a key member of one of Division II's top lacrosse defenses. He has played in all 17 of the Dolphins' games and has a team-best 41 ground balls. Le Moyne is allowing an average of 3.60 goals per game.
Le Moyne defeated Limestone 22-3 in a national semifinal game last weekend. Le Moyne has won 72 consecutive Northeast 10 games and six consecutive conference championships.
