MATT CASSALIA PICKED BY MLL'S SAN FRANCISCO IN SUPPLEMENTAL DRAFT
SYRACUSE, NY - Former Le Moyne College lacrosse standout Matt Cassalia '07 was chosen by the San Francisco Dragons of the Major League Lacrosse League Supplemental Draft. Cassalia was drafted in the sixth round and becomes the fourth Dolphin to join a MLL roster.
A two-time first team All-America and All-NE 10 selection, Cassalia held the Dolphins to back-to-back National Championships in 2006 and 2007. In 2006, he was awarded the Lt. Donald McLaughlin Jr. Awarded as the top midfielder in the country. In 33 games for the Dolphins, Cassalia scored 47 goals and dished out 11 assists. A bruising midfielder, he also held a face-off percentage of .605.
