MLAX: CHADDERDON'S CAREER-BEST FIVE GOALS LEAD #1 DOLPHINS TO 16-2
WIN OVER SAINT ANSELM IN NE-10 SEMIFINALS
Syracuse, N.Y. - Sophomore midfielder Matt Chadderdon
(Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) scored a career-high five goals,
including three in the opening 4:37 of the contest, to lead the
#1-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team to a 16-2 win over
Saint Anselm in the semifinals of the Northeast-10 Conference
tournament on Friday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic
Complex.
Chadderdon opened the scoring with an unassisted tally at the
13:23 mark of the first quarter. Less than two minutes later he
scored his second goal off a feed from senior midfielder
Brian Welch (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca). Just 18 seconds
later the second team all-conference selection completed his
hat-trick after taking a pass from classmate Nick DiSarro
(Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna). Off the ensuing face-off,
senior long-stick midfielder Marc Cizenski (Syracuse,
N.Y./West Genesee) took a pass from sophomore attackman

advantage. The Hawks broke through with just four seconds remaining
in the first half as first team all-conference attackman Chris
Murphy scored an unassisted goal.
Chadderdon completed his scoring with an unassisted goal just 47
seconds into the third quarter. Venditti added a second man-up goal
off a feed from Harmatuk with just over 10 minutes remaining in the
period. Welch scored an unassisted goal as the 5:36 mark and
DiSarro finished off a feed from freshman Sean Connors
(Camillus, N.Y./Marcellus) to extend the Le Moyne lead to
12-1 with 4:01 left. Freshman Taylor Brooks (Cypress,
Tex./Cy-Fair) closed out the scoring in the stanza with a
goal with five seconds left off a pass from junior Keith
Vetter (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt).
Le Moyne increased its lead to 16-1 midway through the final
quarter on goals by freshman Mike Byrnes (Tully,
N.Y./Tully) just 39 seconds in, Connors off a pass from
classmate Brian Craig (Brewerton, N.Y./Central
Square) and Vetter off a feed from Connors. Saint Anselm
completed the scoring with 3:15 to go as Ryan Henry converted a
feed from Tyler Steinetz.

N.Y./Albany Academy) made seven saves, allowing just one
goal, in just over 42 minutes of action.
Le Moyne (14-0) returns to action on Sunday against fourth-ranked
Merrimack at 12:00 p.m. The Dolphins, who will be playing in the
