LE MOYNE EARNS SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE BERTH IN NCAA TOURNAMENT; 'PHINS HOST BRYANT ON SATURDAY, MAY 17TH AT 1:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The two-time defending national champion Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team will face Bryant for the third time this season as they host the Bulldogs in the NCAA semifinals on Saturday, May 17th at 1:00 PM. MCDONALD, BEZEK & COACH SHEEHAN EARN NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE HONORS

NO. 4 BRYANT TRIPS NO. 1 LE MOYNE, 5-4, WITH FOURTH QUARTER RALLY IN NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE FINALS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team had its 25-game winning streak snapped at the hands of Bryant University after a 5-4 setback in the Northeast-10 Conference finals at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Bulldogs (14-3, 9-1 NE-10) become the first team other than the Dolphins (14-1, 10-0 NE-10) to capture a Northeast-10 Conference crown this millennium. NO. 1 LE MOYNE ROLLS PAST ST. MICHAEL’S, 16-5, INTO NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE FINALS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team, ranked No. 1 in the most recent USILA Division II Poll, knocked off St. Michael’s, 16-5, in the Northeast-10 Conference Semifinal action at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins (14-0, 10-0 NE-10) advance to the Northeast-10 Conference Finals and host Bryant University on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Purple Knights (8-7, 6-4 NE-10) were led by Nate Noble’s pair of goals in their season finale. DOLPHINS SEEK 8TH STRAIGHT NE-10 TITLE AS THEY FACE ST. MICHAEL’S IN NE-10 SEMIFINALS.

SYRACUSE, NY – The Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team will begin their quest for their eighth straight Northeast 10 Conference tournament championship this Friday has they host St. Michael’s at 4:00 PM in the tournament semifinals. LE MOYNE WRAPS UP UNDEFEATED REGULAR SEASON WITH 20-3 DEFEAT OF FRANKLIN PIERCE.

RINDGE, N.H. – Winners of their last 24 games, the Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 20-3 defeat of Franklin Pierce on Sunday. The win improves the Dolphins to 13-0, 10-0 in the Northeast 10. Franklin Pierce falls to 2-12, 1-9 in conference action. Junior Jack Mooney led all scorers with four goals as 16 different Dolphins recorded points on the day. [more]

DOLPHIN DEFENSE LEADS THE WAY AS LE MOYNE TOPS BENTLEY 10-1.

WALTHAM , MA – The Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team, winners of 23 straight games, used stifling defense to improve to 12-0, 9-0 NE-10 with a 10-1 victory over Bentley on Saturday. Senior Brian Cost led the way offensively for the Dolphins with three goals and one assist. The loss drops Bentley to 7-6, 5-5 in conference play. [more]

MCIVER EARNS NE-10 GOALIE OF THE WEEK FOR THE FOURTH TIME THIS SEASON.

SOUTH EASTON, MASS – Le Moyne junior Doug McIver was named the NE-10 Goalie of the Week for the fourth time following two conference victories last week. The Dolphins net minder registered a 4.34 goals against average and 12 saves in victories over Pace and Southern New Hampshire. [more]

MCDONALD TABBED AS TEWAARATON AWARD FINALIST

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse senior Mike McDonald was nominated for the 2008 Tewaaraton Award, college lacrosse’s highest individual honor. McDonald, who paces Le Moyne in assists and is tied for the team-lead in points, is the only 2008 men’s nominee from a Division II school. [more]

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Mike McDonald turned in a nine-point performance and became the fifth member of the Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse 200-point club as Le Moyne College dropped So. New Hampshire University, 21-7, in Northeast-10 Conference men’s lacrosse action at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex. The 21 goals scored by the Dolphins (11-0, 8-0 NE-10), ranked No. 1 in the most recent USILA Division II Poll, were a season-high. BRIAN COST NETS FIVE GOALS IN 16-3 VICTORY OVER PACE

SYRACUSE, NY – Senior Brian Cost scored five goals and assisted on two others in leading Le Moyne to a 16-3 victory over Pace on Tuesday at the Niland Athletic Complex. The Dolphins (10-0, 7-0 NE-10) used a strong second half to outscore Pace (6-5, 3-3 NE-10) 10-1 over the final 30 minutes. [more]

LE MOYNE BLANKS AIC 17-0 AS 13 DOLPHINS REGISTER GOALS.

SPRINGFILED, MA – The top-ranked Le Moyne men’s lacrosse team rolled over AIC on Sunday 17-0. Led by freshman Mark Bowler and Nick DiSarrio first career hat tricks, Le Moyne had a balanced offensive attack as 13 Dolphins recorded goals. With the win, the Dolphins improve to 8-0, (5-0 NE-1) on the year. AIC falls to 1-5 (0-5 NE-10) with the loss. [more]

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The top-ranked Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team improved to 7-0, 4-0 (NE-10) by dealing St. Anselm a 9-5 defeat on Saturday. The Dolphins were led by senior Brian Cost and Jack Venditti who combined for seven of the nine Le Moyne goals. With the loss, St. Anselm falls to 5-4, 3-2 (NE-10). [more]

Colchester, VT – The top ranked Le Moyne Dolphins out shot St. Michael’s 46-18 en rout to a 14-2 victory over the Purple Knights on Tuesday. The win marks the Dolphins’ 17th consecutive victory and improves them to 6-0, 3-0 NE-10 on the year. St. Michaels falls to 3-4 and 2-2 in conference play. [more]

NO. 1 LE MOYNE HANDLES FIFTH STRAIGHT TOP-TEN FOE WITH 12-5 VICTORY OVER NO. 6 MERRIMACK

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Brian Griffin’s efforts in the face-off circle propelled the No. 1 Le Moyne College men’s lacrosse team to a 12-5 victory over No. 6 Merrimack College in Northeast-10 Conference action at West Genesee High School. Griffin scored once and won 16-of-18 face-offs, including 14 in a row to open up the contest for the Dolphins (5-0, 2-0 NE-10). Greg Rogowski scored a goal and dished out two assists for the Warriors (4-1, 1-1 NE-10). [more]
