LE MOYNE'S SIX GAME UNBEATEN STREAK SNAPPED WITH 4-1 LOSS
TO #4 UMASS-LOWELL
LOWELL, MA - The six game unbeaten streak of the Le Moyne soccer
team was snapped Saturday afternoon as the UMass-Lowell Riverhawks,
ranked #4 nationall in the latest NSCAA National Rankings, handed
the Dolphins their second loss of the season by the score of 4-1.
The Dolphins fall to 9-2-2 on the season, 7-2-2 in the Northeast 10
Conference.
The Riverhawks jumped out to a 2-0 advantage as Edens Carey scored
an unassisted goal in the 33rd minute. UMass-Lowell would strike
quickly after when Brandan Horne scored his third goal of the
season just: 53 seconds later to give the Riverhawks the two goal
lead going into halftime.
Matt Pecheone would score his fourth goal of the season for Le
Moyne to pull within one goal at 2-1. That would be as close as the
Dolphins would get as UMass-Lowell's Jamie Wangia would score his
first and second goals of the season within: 14 second to seal the
4-1 victory
Le Moyne is back in action on Tuesday, October 9th as the Dolphins
host Dominican in a non-conference game at the Niland Athletic
Center.
