DOLPHINS RECORD FIRST VICTORY WITH 4-0 SHUTOUT OF HOLY
FAMILY
New Castle, DE – The men’s soccer team scored early
and often as they recorded their first
win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Holy Family. The Tigers
fell to 0-2 on the season as the Dolphins improved to 1-0-1 on the
second day of the Wilmington University Invitational at the
Kirkwood Soccer Complex.
Senior Matt Pecheone (New Hartford, NY / New Hartford) scored his
first goal of the season unassisted to give the Dolphins a 1-0
advantage. All-conference defender Brandon Morse (Lima, OH /
Shawnee) pushed the lead to 2-0 converting on a penalty kick.
Following a goal from Brice Rudat (Nassau, NY / Columbia)
to give Le Moyne a 3-0 advantage into halftime, 2007
NE-10 Co-Freshman of the Year, Angelo Reina (Frankfurt, NY / Utica
ND) took a second half feed from Jesse Carr (Skaneateles, NY /
Skaneateles) and found the back of the net for his first tally of
the year.
Dolphin net minder Steve White (Cortland, NY /
Cortland) went the distance in goal for his 11th career
shut-out.
Le Moyne returns to action on Wednesday, September 3rd as they
travel to take on Dominican at 2:00 PM. The 'Phins open their home
schedule on Saturday, September 6th when they face Stonehill at
noon.
