3-1
Syracuse, N.Y. – Senior Matt Pecheone (New
Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) notched two goals and junior
David Dipaola (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Athena)
scored his second goal of the season as the Le Moyne College
men’s soccer team knocked off Stonehill, 3-1, at the Thomas
J. Niland Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
Pecheone took a pass from Brandon Morse (Lima,
Ohio/Shawnee) and chipped in his first goal of the afternoon to
push Le Moyne ahead, 1-0, at the 23:11 mark of the first half.
Dipaola added a header just over 10 minutes later off of a corner
kick from the foot of Pecheone.
Pecheone put in an unassisted score, his fourth of the season
and second of the afternoon, just over 20 minutes into the second
half to give the Dolphins a 3-0 advantage. Stonehill tacked on a
goal in the game’s 86th minute, when Michael White tallied
the Skyhawks’ first score of the season on an assist from
Martin Earley.
