MORSE AND LAWLOR NAMED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-REGION SECOND
TEAM
Syracuse, N.Y. - Le Moyne College senior midfielder
Brandon Morse (Lima, Ohio/Shawnee) and sophomore
defender Sean Lawlor (Kirkham, Preston/Baines
School) have been named to the 2008 Daktronics men's
soccer East Region Second Team, as voted on by the region's sports
information directors and announced on Thursday, November 13.
Morse, named to the Northeast-10 Conference First Team, has
started in all 20 games he has appeared this season. From his
central midfield position, Morse has tallied a career-high 16
points on six goals and four assists. Morse has been successful on
four-of-four penalty kick opportunities and has recorded three
game-winning goals for the Dolphins.
Lawlor, named to the all-conference second team, has started all
21 games along the back line for the Dolphins. Lawlor has anchored
a defense that has allowed just 0.91 goals per game from his center
back position. He has also contributed four goals and one assist
when pushed up on scoring opportunities. In Le Moyne's 2-1
double-overtime victory at UMass Lowell in the semifinals of the
Northeast-10 tournament, Lawlor scored the game-winner off a free
kick in the 103rd minute.
The teams are sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an
acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable
display systems for virtually every sport at every level of
competition. The team is voted on by the members of the
College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Le Moyne (13-5-3) opens play in the 2008 NCAA East Regional on Friday at 1:00 p.m. on the campus of Dowling College against Northeast-10 Conference-foe Franklin Pierce.
