MATT PECHEONE NAMED TO NSCAA/ADIDAS EAST REGION FIRST
TEAM
Kansas City, Kan. - Le Moyne College senior forward Matthew
Pecheone (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) has been named
to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America
(NSCAA)/adidas Division II men's soccer East Region First Team, as
announced on Wednesday, December 17.
Pecheone, a member of this season's Northeast-10 Conference first
team, earned his second NSCAA/adidas honors after being named to
the second team as a junior. Pecheone, a three-time All-Conference
selection, finished the season tied for second among the
conference's scoring leaders in points and goals scored after
entering postseason play tied atop both charts. Pecheone, a starter
in all 21 games he appeared, tallied 11 goals and five assist for
27 points. The 11 goals place him in a tie for 10th on the
program's season-single goals charts. For his career, Pecheone
recorded 28 goals and 10 assists for 66 points, the eighth-most
goals and tied for eighth-most points in the program's history.
Le Moyne (13-6-3, NE-10 9-3-1) advanced to the Northeast-10
Conference championship game for the second time in four seasons
and appeared in the NCAA tournament for the third time in four
years.
