DOLPHINS PLAY TO SCORELESS DRAW WITH POST UNIVERSITY

Syracuse, N.Y. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Post University in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas J. Niland Athletic Complex.

Over the opening 45 minutes of action, the Dolphins registered a 6-5 advantage in shots over the Eagles, while Post took two of the half's three corner kicks. The Dolphins recorded the two best scoring chances of the half. Freshman midfielder Casey Murphy (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) collected a crossing pass from the left side of the field two yards away from the left goal post at the 16:32 mark, but Post goalkeeper Errol Reid was able to make the initial save, while Murphy's follow-up attempt was blocked by a Post defender. Eight and one-half minutes later, senior midfielder Jesse Carr (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) sent a free kick from just outside the penalty box towards the goal, but it went just over the crossbar.

Each team took four shots in the second half, none of which were on target, while the Eagles recorded four corner kicks to Le Moyne's two.

Neither team threatened in the overtime periods as the teams ended with 11 shots apiece. Sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Silva (Brampton, Ontario/St. Augustine) made two first half saves for the Dolphins, while Reid recorded just one save in 110 minutes between the pipes.

Le Moyne (1-1-1) returns to action on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at New York Tech
