Chidsey, and Lesher named Northeast-10 Men's and Women's Swimming Athlete's of the Week, while Nicole Murphy earns top Freshman honors.
SYRACUSE, NY - Alison Lesher (Sherrill, NY) and Ricky Chidsey (Liverpool, NY) garnered top honors from the Northeast-10 Conference for their performances in last weeks men's and women's swim meets. Nicole Murphy (Camillus, NY) was named the Northeast-10 Conference Freshman of the Week.
Chidsey won five individual events, and was part of a winning
relay team against Oswego and Boston College. Chidsey won the
100-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, and 200-yard IM and was
also part of the winning 400-yard medley against Oswego.
Against Boston College Chidsey won the 100-yard backstroke, and
200-yard freestyle.
Lesher was named the Northeast-10 Women's Swimming Athlete of the
Week as she also won five individual events over the past
week. Lesher set a program record and qualified for the NCAA
Championship with a 10:36.57 in the 1,000-yard freestyle against
Boston College.
Murphy captured three individual wins and teamed for a relay win
in a dual meet at Oswego and won two events in a home dual meet
with Boston College to earn the Northeast-10 Conference Women's
Freshmen of the Week honors. Making the Weekly Honor Roll was
Le Moyne's Ryan Lowrie (Johnson City, NY) as he won three
individual events and teamed for two relay wins this past
week.
