DOLPHINS SWEEP NORTHEAST-10 SWIMMING AND DIVING WEEKLY AWARDS

South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College seniors Meghan Nugent (Binghamton, N.Y/Chenango Valley) and Zach Hisert (Amsterdam, N.Y./Amsterdam), sophomore Jerry Dumary (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) and freshmen Mike Christine (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) and Katie O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) have garnered Northeast-10 Conference swimming and diving weekly honors, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Dumary, a four-time Northeast-10 Conference champion as a freshman and two-time freshman of the week, was honored as the men's swimming athlete of the week for his performance at Oswego on Saturday, Oct. 18. Dumary registered three individual wins in the season-opening 163-135 win against the Lakers. He picked up a win in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:02.71, while also touching first in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:14.91 and the 200-yard IM in 2:08.63.

Nugent, named the women's swimming athlete of the week, opened the season by registering three individual wins in the season-opening 152-147 loss at Oswego. Nugent recorded the win with a time of 11:26.78 in the 1,000-yard freestyle to open the meet. She also registered first-place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:16.58 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:01.44.

Hisert was honored as the men's diving athlete of the week after registering a pair of third-place finishes against Oswego. Hisert scored 188.95 points in the three-meter diving and 209.75 points in the one-meter diving event against the Lakers.

 

Christine, named the men's freshman of the week, registered three individual wins in the win at Oswego. Christine earned the win with a time of 22.14 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle. He also registered wins in the 100-yard freestyle in 49.74 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 54.77 seconds.

O'Donnell, honored as the women's freshman of the week, recorded three individual wins and set two school records in the loss to the Lakers. O'Donnell picked up the victory in the 100-yard backstroke in a school-record time of 59.60 seconds and touched the wall first in the 200-yard backstroke in a school-record time of 2:10.38. She also earned the win in the 200-yard IM in 2:11.86.

Le Moyne returns to action on Saturday, October 25 for its home-opener against Utica at 1:00 p.m.
