CHIDSEY AND MURPHY EARN SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HONORS FROM
NE-10
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College senior Ricky Chidsey
(Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and junior Nicole
Murphy (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) have received
Northeast-10 Conference swimming athlete of the week honors, as
announced by the conference office on Monday, Nov. 24.
Chidsey, honored by the conference as the men's swimming athlete of
the week for the second consecutive week, won a pair of individual
events and was a member of a winning relay team to lead Le Moyne to
a 145-116 win over Saint Rose on Saturday. Chidsey won the 100-yard
backstroke in 52.84 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in a time of
47.72. Chidsey also teamed for a win as part of the 200-yard medley
relay team that finished in 1:38.26.
Murphy, recognized as the women's swimming athlete of the week for
the first time this season, won two individual events and was a
member of a winning relay team to lead the Dolphins in a 160-127
home win over Saint Rose on Saturday. Murphy won the 100-yard
breaststroke in 1:09.88 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:31.40.
She also combined for a win as part of the 200-yard medley relay
team that touched the wall in 1:53.99.
Le Moyne (5-1) returns to action on Friday, Dec. 5 at the
Northeast-10 Conference Championships, held on the campus of
Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Conn.
