DOLPHINS RETURN TO ACTION AGAINST ALFRED
SYRACUSE, NY - The Le Moyne College swimming and diving teams
returned to the pool on Saturday afternoon following their winter
break and training trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In hosting
Alfred University, the women were victorious 177-116 while the men
fell 196-98.
In topping Alfred, the Dolphins were led by four swimmers who won
two races each. Junior Sarah Casey (Binghamton, NY /
Chenango Valley) placed first overall in the 100 and 200
backstroke. Nicole Murphy (Camillus, NY / West
Genesee) swept the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Senior
Megan Nugent (Binghamton, NY / Chenango Valley)
won the 500 freestyle and the 200 butterfly while freshman
Katie O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y.
Bethlehem) touched first in the 100 butterfly and 200
freestyle. Sophomore Sarah Salanger (Syracuse, NY / West
Genesee) and senior Lauren Ziemann (Syracuse, NY /
West Genesee) also placed first in the 1000 freestyle and
100 freestyle respectively.
On the men's side, senior Ricky Chidsey (Liverpool, NY /
Liverpool) and freshman Mike Christine (Clifton
Park, NY / Shenendehowa) were the Dolphins lone winners.
Chidsey touched first in the 200 freestyle while Christine placed
first in the 100 butterfly.
The Dolphins return to action on Saturday, January 24th
as they host RIT at 1:00 PM.
