SWIM: CHIDSEY AND CHRISTINE HONORED BY NORTHEAST-10
CONFERENCE
South Easton, Mass. - Le Moyne College senior Ricky
Chidsey (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and freshman
Mike Christine (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa)
have received Northeast-10 Conference men's swimming and diving
weekly honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday,
Jan. 26.
Chidsey, honored by the conference as the men's swimming athlete
of the week for the third time this season, won three individual
events and teamed for a relay victory to lead Le Moyne to a 158-139
win over RIT on Saturday. Chidsey registered individual victories
in the 200-yard freestyle in a pool record time of 1:43.98, the
500-yard freestyle in 5:00.77 and the 200-yard IM in 2:01.45.
Chidsey swam the anchor leg on the first place 400-yard freestyle
relay team that finished in 3:18.38.
Christine, recognized as the men's swimming freshman of the week
for the fourth time, won three individual events and was a member
of a winning relay team to lead the Dolphins in the win over RIT.
Christine won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.00 seconds, the 100-yard
freestyle in 49.18 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 53.62
seconds. Christine swam the third leg of the victorious 200-yard
medley relay team (1:39.35).
Le Moyne (6-2) returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 31 against Ithaca in a dual meet at 1:00 p.m. Le Moyne's 11-member senior class will be honored in a ceremony prior to competing in their final home dual meet. Additionally, former Le Moyne standout Alison Lesher '08 will have a banner unveiled to acknowledge her national championship in the 200 butterfly last spring.
