ALISON LESHER '08 TO BE HONORED PRIOR TO SATURDAY'S SWIM MEET

Syracuse, N.Y. - Le Moyne College standout swimmer Alison Lesher '08 (Sherrill, N.Y./V-V-S) will be honored for winning the 2008 Division II National Championship in the 200-yard butterfly prior to Saturday's 1:00 p.m. swim meet against Ithaca.

Lesher, who was one of 30 finalists selected this past fall for the 2008 NCAA Woman of the Year Award, will have a banner unveiled to commemorate her achievement as the first student-athlete in Le Moyne College history to win an individual national championship. She earned her title by touching first in a school-record time of 2:01.66. Lesher, who finished her career as the most decorated women's swimmer in the program's history, was a five-time All-American, was named the Most Valuable Swimmer at the 2006 and 2007 Northeast-10 Conference Championships and won 10 conference titles in her career. She also graduated holding eight different school records.
