FRESHMAN KATIE O’DONNELL PACES DOLPHINS AT
UNYSCSA
SYRACUSE, NY – Freshman Katie
O’Donnell (Delmar, NY / Bethlehem) earned seven
top-10 finishes (three individual and four relay) at the 2009
UNYSCSA Championships to help Le Moyne to a sixth place finish.
Ithaca College garnered 1,338 points to claim the championship,
followed by Stevens (1,161.5), Union (1,018), Nazareth (880.5) and
Hartwick (775.5).
O’Donnell secured three individual top-10 finishes in the
200 Yard IM (7th), 100 Yard Backstroke (2nd) and 200 Yard
Backstroke (4th). Her performance in 200 Backstroke was a
Division II NCAA A Cut time and will allow her to compete at the
NCAA Championships in March.
Junior Nicole Murphy (Camillus, NY / West
Genesee) earned two individual top-five finishes in the
100 Yard Breaststroke (4th) and 200 Yard Breaststroke (5th).
Sophomore Sarah Salanger (Syracuse, NY / West
Genesee) placed sixth in the 200 Yard Freestyle, eights in
the 500 Freestyle and 11th overall in the 1650 Freestyle.
Senior Meghan Nugent (Binghamton, NY / Chenango
Valley) placed sixth in the 100 Yard Butterfly and
registered a NCAA B Cut time with her third place finish in the 200
Yard Butterfly.
Freshman Mary Walton (Syracuse, NY / Nottingham)
earned an eighth place finish for the Dolphins in 3 Meter
Diving.
