SWIM: CHIDSEY AND O'DONNELL EARN NORTHEAST-10 SWIMMING AND DIVING WEEKLY HONORS


South Easton, Mass. - Senior Ricky Chidsey (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) and freshman Katie O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) took home Northeast-10 weekly honors, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.

Chidsey, named the men's swimming athlete of the week for the second straight week and fifth time this season, placed in two events at the NCAA Championships at the University of Houston Recreation Center. Chidsey's eighth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:48.82 was good enough to earn a spot on the All-America First Team. His 12th-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.34 seconds earned Chidsey a Honorable Mention All-America honors.

O'Donnell, who won freshman of the week for the fourth time this season, earned two Honorable Mention All-America awards en route to breaking three school records. O'Donnell's two Honorable Mention awards came in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard IM with 11th and 16th place finishes, respectively. Her times of 2:03.94 in the 200-yard backstroke, 2:06.77 in the 200-yard IM prelims and 57.56 in the 100-yard backstroke all broke previous school records.
