KATIE O'DONNELL AND SCOTT THIEKE EARN NORTHEAST-10
SWIMMING HONORS
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Le Moyne College sophomore
Katie O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) and
freshman Scott Thieke (Jamesville,
N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) have received Northeast-10
Conference weekly swimming honors, as announced by the conference
office on Tuesday afternoon.
Thieke, named the conference's men's swimming athlete and freshman
of the week for the second straight week, won four individual
events and teamed on two relay victories to lead the Dolphins last
week. Thieke picked up individual first-place finishes in the
200-yard freestyle (1:51.45) and 500-yard freestyle (5:12.46) and
teamed on a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:27.57) in the
142-96 loss at Ithaca on Friday night. Thieke touched first in the
200-yard freestyle (1:51.25) and 500-yard freestyle (5:10.65) and
combined on the first-place 200-yard medley relay (4:00) in the
121-120 loss to Oswego State on Saturday afternoon.
O'Donnell, named the women's swimming athlete of the week for
the first time this season and third time in her career, won four
individual events and teamed on two relay victories to lead the
Dolphins this past week. O'Donnell picked up individual first-place
finishes in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.45) and 500-yard freestyle
(5:12.46) and teamed on a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay
(3:27.57) 169-74 loss at Ithaca on Friday night. She touched first
in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.25) and 500-yard freestyle
(5:10.65) and combined on the first-place 200-yard medley relay
(4:00) in a 131-112 defeat to Oswego State on Saturday
afternoon.
The swimming and diving teams return to action on Saturday, Oct.
31 against Cortland State at 1:00 p.m.
