SWIM: DOLPHINS SPLIT WITH CORTLAND STATE IN DUAL MEET

Syracuse, N.Y. - Senior Nicole Murphy (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) and sophomore Katie O'Donnell (Delmar, N.Y./Bethlehem) each won three individual events and teamed on a relay victory to lead the Le Moyne College women's swimming and diving team to a 174-126 win over Cortland State on Saturday afternoon at the Rev. Vincent B. Ryan, S.J. Pool. Junior Jerry Dumary (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa) won two individual events and teamed on a relay event, but the Le Moyne men's swimming and diving team fell to Cortland State, 143-130.

Murphy and O'Donnell teamed with seniors Sarah Casey (Binghamton, N.Y./Chenango Valley) and Kayla Ehle (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:53.62. Murphy later picked up wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.12), 200-yard breaststroke (2:31.33) and the 200-yard IM (2:18.75). O'Donnell, who has won at least two individual events in each of Le Moyne's four meets this season, topped the field in the 200-yard butterfly (2:12.90), 200-yard backstroke (2:10.65) and set a new pool record in the 100-yard butterfly (58.97). Junior Sarah Salanger (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) registered a pair of individual wins for the Dolphins. She touched first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.50) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.93), while also anchoring the first-place 400-yard freestyle relay squad. Ehle, junior Maggie Donovan (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) and sophomore Mary Chidsey (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) combined with Salanger to finish in 3:47.35. Casey earned Le Moyne's final individual win by placing first in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.92. Freshman Ericka Ruffrage (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) won the first one-meter diving event with a score of 195.00, while sophomore Mary Walton (Syracuse, N.Y./Nottingham) was victorious in the second one-meter diving event with a score of 181.75.

On the men's side, Dumary, who has been apart of two wins in each of his three meets this year, won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:02.74 and the 200-yard IM in 2:04.89, while teaming on the first-place 200-yard medley relay squad. The quartet of freshman James Walker (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool), Dumary, junior Sean Hosford (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and freshman Scott Thieke (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) were victorious in a time of 1:40.44. Hosford won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.39 seconds, while freshman Tim Gallivan (Camillus, N.Y./West Genesee) won the 100-yard butterfly in 56.26 seconds to account for Le Moyne's only other individual wins.

Le Moyne returns to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 7 against Northeast-10 Conference-foe Bentley at 1:00 p.m.
