WTEN: DOLPHINS FALL TO MERRIMACK 7-2 IN NE-10 OPENER
North Andover, Mass. - The Le Moyne College women's tennis team
fell to Merrimack by the score of 7-2 on Saturday, Sept. 13 in the
Northeast-10 Conference opener for both teams. Junior
Allison Cohen (Fayetteville,
N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) and freshman Caroline
Tisdell (Syracuse, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy)
claimed their first singles victories of the season as the Dolphins
fell to 0-2, 0-1 in the NE-10.
Cohen defeated Stellina Saia in three sets at the number two
singles position. Cohen took the first set 7-5, dropped the second
set 6-4, but came back to win the third set 6-3. Tisdell won in
straight sets over Brittany Holmes at number three singles by
consecutive scores of 6-2.
Le Moyne returns to action on Sunday in Colchester, Vt. to take on Saint Michael's at 3:00 p.m.
