MTEN: FRESHMEN LEAD DOLPHINS TO 9-0 SWEEP OF SAINT
ANSELM
SYRACUSE, NY – The Le Moyne College men’s tennis team
defeated Saint Anselm 9-0 on Saturday in the NE-10 spring season
opener. In not dropping a set in the match, the Dolphins
improved to 4-6, 2-4 in conference play. Each of the Dolphins six
singles victories were earned by freshmen.
Brian Rice (Syracuse, NY / Westhill) earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over
Conor McDormack in number one singles. Daniel Sullivan (Auburn, NY
/ Auburn), James Shelp (Pittsford, NY / Pittsford Sutherland),
Andrew Gleason (Gorham, Maine / Cheverus), Joseph Persia
(Spencerport, NY / Spencerport) and Cameron Smith (Conklin, NY /
Susquehanna Valley) all earned straight set victories in
singles.
The Dolphins return to action on Monday, March 23rd as they travel
to R.I.T. for an non-conference match at 4:00 PM.
