DOLPHINS CLOSE OUT FALL SEASON WITH 8-1 LOSS AT BENTLEY

Waltham, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team closed out its fall season with an 8-1 loss at Bentley on Sunday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action.

The Falcons opened the match by winning two of the three doubles contests. Lucas Wever and Zach Tuckman combined to beat seniors Daniel Sullivan (Auburn, N.Y./Auburn) and Ken Schiefer (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool/Onondaga C.C.) at first doubles, 8-2. At second doubles, Victor Suski teamed with Alex Spycher to edge seniors Joseph Persia (Spencerport, N.Y./Spencerport) and Andrew Gleason (Gorham, Maine/Cheverus), 8-6. Le Moyne got its point in doubles play at the third spot as senior James Shelp (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Sutherland) and sophomore Daryl Johnson (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa) registered an 8-5 win over Rodrigo Ribeiro and Raghav Tanna.

Bentley swept each of the singles matches in straight sets. Wever posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Sullivan at the top spot, while Tuckman recorded a 6-3, 6-0 victory over Shelp at second singles. At third singles, Ribeiro topped Persia, 6-3, 6-1, while Andrew Waddington registered a 6-4, 6-3 win over Gleason. Schiefer fell at fifth singles to Suski, 6-2, 6-4, while Johnson was defeated by Spycher, 6-3, 6-1, at the sixth spot.

Le Moyne (2-4, 2-4 NE-10) resumes its conference schedule in the spring season against St. Michael's on Saturday, March 17 at 12:00 p.m.
