Colchester, Vt. – The Le Moyne College men's tennis team fell to Saint Michael's College, 9-0, on Friday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference action in the Tarrant Recreation Center.

In doubles play, Eric Parziale and Steve Thomson registered an 8-6 victory over junior Alessandro Nieves (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and sophomore Shane Evans (Oswego, N.Y./Pulaski) at the first spot. At second doubles, Nick Bosco and Chris Moskal posted an 8-1 win over graduate student Michael Green (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and junior Daryl Johnson (Minoa, N.Y./East Syracuse-Minoa), while Sam Laves and Kenny Vassallo recorded an 8-4 win at third doubles over freshman Blaine Drake (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) and Tyler Shaban (Liverpool, N.Y./C.W. Baker).

In singles action, Parziale was victorious at the top spot over Evans with back-to-back scores of 6-0. Thomson then recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Green at third singles. After Saint Michael's clinched the match with its fifth point, three matches that were in-progress were halted and the points awarded to the Purple Knights. Bosco was leading Nieves, 6-1, 4-1, at second singles when play was stopped, while Moskal had a 1-0 lead over Drake. Johnson won the opening set against Billy Wood by a score of 7-5 before the match was halted. The match at sixth singles between Lyle Nichols and senior Robert Brooks (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) was never started, but the point was awarded to the Purple Knights.

Le Moyne (0-6, 0-5 NE-10) returns to action against Daemen College on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Gold's Gym in Liverpool.
