LE MOYNE LANDS PAIR ON NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Le Moyne College women's cross country runners Kelsey Ryan (Warsaw, N.Y./Livonia) and Christina Phelan (Syracuse, N.Y./West Genesee) have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic team. Ryan, an undeclared major with a 3.86 grade point average, was named to the first team. Phelan, a senior Biology major with a 3.56 grade point average, earned a spot on the second team.

Ryan finished 30th overall and second among Le Moyne runners as the Dolphins placed sixth among 20 schools at the NCAA Division II regional. She ran 33rd at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship with a time of 20:32. She finished a season-high 10th at the Le Moyne Invitational and was among the top 100 of nearly 300 runners at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic in Orlando.

Phelan has earned her second consecutive spot on the conference's all-academic team. She was 56th at the Northeast-10 Conference Championship with a time of 21:20 and 57th at the NCAA Division II regional with a time of 25:34. Last season, Phelan topped Le Moyne's entrants at the NCAA regional with a 19th place finish. She has also been honored for her academics by the Division II Coaches Association.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following criteria: 1.) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and been a starter or significant contributor; 2.) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average; and 3.) completed at least one academic year at their current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Conference Sports Information Directors.
