JAKE MCANDREW NAMED NCAA DIVISION II ALL-REGION
NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced today the 2007 Men's All-Region Cross Country teams for all eight regions which represent Division II Cross Country. Le Moyne's Jake McAndrew was named to the team following his 13th place finish at the NCAA Regionals..
Leading the way were the Lakers of Grand Valley State who placed seven athletes on the Great Lakes All-Region team. The Lakers won the Great Lakes regional title on Saturday, their sixth consecutive regional team title.
Chico State placed six athletes on the West All-Region team, followed by Missouri Southern State and Stonehill who each had five athletes on their respective All-Region teams. Chico St., Missouri Southern State (South Central) and Stonehill (Northeast) each won regional titles.
Abilene Christian (South Central), Adams State (North Central), Edinboro (East), Slippery Rock (East), UMASS-Lowell (Northeast) and Queens (Southeast) each placed four athletes on All-Region teams.
The Northeast-10 Conference and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference led all Division II conferences with 14 All-Region team members. The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference each had 12 All-Region team members.
All-Region honors are given to an athlete who finishes in the top 15 at their respective regional meet and whose team is a member of the USTFCCCA. The 2007 Men's All-Region Teams:
