XC: MCANDREW & D'AMBRO LEAD DOLPHINS AT THE MOUNTAINEER FLATLAND INVITATIONAL

Mansfield, Penn. - During the first annual Mountaineer Flatland Invitational on Saturday, senior Jake McAndrew (Oswego, N.Y./Oswego) placed 5th overall in a field of 49 runners as the Le Moyne men's cross country team tied for fifth place in the 10K event. In the women's 6K event, freshman Emma D'Ambro (Schaghticoke, N.Y./Hoosic Valley) led Le Moyne as she finished with a time of 22:40.80 to place 11th in a field of 74 runners. The women's team finished in eighth place.

On the men's side, Shippensburg's Bryan Beegle earned top individual honors with a time of 32:04.80 in the 10K event, while Priscilla Jennings of Millersville won the women's 6K race with a time of 21:12.90.

Following McAndrew for the Dolphins, Nicholas Cutter (Housatonic, Mass./ Monument Mountain) finished 31st with a time of 34:50.50, followed by Evan Oustrich (Mexico, N.Y./ Mexico) who placed 36th finishing in 35:06.50. Rounding out the top-five finishers for Le Moyne were Patrick Micaroni (Blossvale, N.Y./Canastota) and Matthew Carey (East Greenbush, N.Y. / Columbia) placing 39th and 42nd respectively.

For the women's run, Gina Micaroni (Blossvale, N.Y./ Canastota) placed in the top-20 with a 16th place showing in a time of 23:09.50. Erin Hudson (Fulton, N.Y./ Fulton) and Chelsea Gibson (Weedsport, N.Y./ Weedsport) followed D'Ambro and Micaroni with times of 25:36.30 and 26:20.40 to place 59th and 66th respectively. Senior Kimberly Thompson (Lafayette, N.Y. / Lafayette) completed the ‘Phins top-five with a time of 26:35.10 to place 69th in scoring.

The Dolphins return to action on Friday, Oct. 2nd at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University starting at 11:00 AM.
