XC: LE MOYNE MEN AND WOMEN PLACE NINTH AT NORTHEAST-10
CHAMPIONSHIP
Colchester, Vt. - The Le Moyne College men's and women's cross
country teams each placed ninth at the 29th Annual Northeast-10
Conference Cross Country Championship on Sunday morning on the
Saint Michael's College campus.
Stonehill College turned in first-place finishes in both the men's
and women's team competitions. In the women's five-kilometer race,
Southern Connecticut State senior Laura Brustolen recorded the
individual championship with a time of 18:03.8. American
International freshman Glarius Rop turned in a meet-record time of
24:22.2 to cruise to a victory in the men's eight-kilometer
race.
Freshman Emma D'Ambro (Schaghticoke, N.Y./Hoosic
Valley) led the Dolphins in the race with a 22nd-place
finish in 19:36.4. Sophomore Gina Micaroni (Blossvale,
N.Y./Canastota) followed 10 seconds later to place 28th.
Freshman Erin Hudson (Fulton, N.Y./Fulton) and
seniors Chelsea Gibson (Weedsport, N.Y./Weedsport)
and Kimberly Thompson (Lafayette, N.Y./Lafayette)
rounded out Le Moyne's top-five finishers by placing 79th, 90th and
114th respectively.
On the men's side, senior Jake McAndrew (Oswego,
N.Y./Oswego) was the first Dolphin to cross the finish
line, placing 36th in 26:58.1. Freshman Nicholas Cutter
(Housatonic, Mass./Monument Mountain) turned a 54th-place
performance with a time of 27:32.1, while classmate Evan
Oustrich (Mexico, N.Y./Mexico) finished 78th in a time of
28:19.8. Freshmen Patrick Micaroni (Blossvale,
N.Y./Canastota) and Matthew Carey (East Greenbush,
N.Y./Columbia) capped the top-five finishers for the
Dolphins by placing 86th and 101st respectively.
Le Moyne closes out the season in two weeks at the NCAA Regionals
at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
