LE MOYNE SOFTBALL JOINS RED CROSS EFFORT TO HELP FLOOD VICTIMS OF SOUTHERN TIER

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Le Moyne College softball seniors Lindsay Spaziani (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) and Kristen DesLauriers (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) joined head coach Ken King in presenting proceeds from a fall softball clinic to the American Red Cross Flood Relief to the Southern Tier of New York. Le Moyne softball donated $3 from every clinic participant to the cause.

According to the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, flooding in late June destroyed 800 homes and seriously damaged 300 more in the Binghamton area.

"Many people from the softball community of the Southern Tier who were affected by the flooding this summer," King said. "This money is to be directed to the flood victims. Much of our success has been directly attributed to Southern Tier softball players."

Richard F. Blansett, the Director of Public Affairs for the Onondaga-Oswego Chapter of the American Red Cross, accepted the check from Le Moyne College softball.
