THREE FROM LE MOYNE NAMED TO NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE SOFTBALL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Sarah Reed (DeWitt, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt), Kortney Meadows (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) and Lyndsey Balinskas (Edison, N.J./Edison) have earned academic honors from the Northeast-10 Conference. Reed has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic first team, while Meadows and Balinskas garnered a spot on the second team.
Reed, a Mathematics major, has a 3.56 grade point average. The junior pitcher is 5-4 with a 2.97 ERA in 14 games. Reed, play left field for the Dolphins when not pitching, is hitting .297 with four home runs and 24 RBI in 34 games.
A Biology major, Meadows carries a 3.72 grade point average. In 35 games, the junior rightfielder has hit .293 with four home runs and 11 RBI. Balinskas, a sophomore Mathematics major, carries a 3.98 grade point average.
To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) participated in at least half of the team's competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and 3) completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution. The Northeast-10 All-Academic Teams are chosen by a vote of the Northeast-10 Sports Information Directors.
