DOLPHINS TRAVEL TO LONG ISLAND TO FACE DOWLING

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Coming back from the Rebel Spring Invitational, Le Moyne Dolphins continue their season with a 6-6 overall record. The Dolphins travel to face Dowling in their second double header of the year. In the 2007 season the Dolphins defeated Dowling 3-1, and 5-3 on the road.  The double header starts off at noon on Saturday March 22nd.

Leading the way for the Dolphins, senior Sarah Reed, starts off the year earning the Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Week honors for March 10th. With twelve games into the season, Reed tops the charts for Le Moyne with a .415 batting avg., seventeen hits, and fifteen RBI's.

Trailing close behind Kelly Schweikert makes her contribution to the team with a .308 batting avg., and twelve hits. Caitlin O'Neill is second on the list for RBI's with seven. Emma Murphy and Danielle VanGorder each contribute one homerun apiece early in the season.

On the mound Jennifer Farrelly, Sarah Reed, and Caylinn Christophersen lead the Dolphins with two wins apiece. The Dolphins pitching shows their strength with a 2.71 team ERA. Leading the Dolphins in pitching is Farrelly with a 2.33 ERA. In her 18 innings of work she has allowed only ten hits on eight runs. Other Dolphins making an appearance in the pitching circle are freshman Katelyn Fowler and Jenna Vanacore.

The Dolphins have a busy week on the road traveling to long island to play Molloy on Monday the 24th at noon, and back again to play at LIU-CW Post Tuesday the 29th at 2:30. Catch the Dolphins in action at home for the first time Saturday April 5th against AIC at1 PM.
