JENNA VANACORE TOSSES A PERFECT GAME AS DOLPHINS SWEEP MOLLOY 10-6 & 9-0.

Rockville Centre, NY – Freshman Jenna Vanacore pitched a perfect game to complete a two-game sweep of Molloy on Tuesday. The NE-10 Freshman of the Week, Vanacore struck out 11 as she faced the minimum 21 batters in the 9-0 victory. In game one, the Dolphins recorded a season-high 17 hits en route to a 10-6 win. With the sweep, the Dolphins improve to 10-6 on the season. Molloy drops to 5-8 on the year.

In game one, the Dolphins would score early and often as they scored in all but one inning. Bailey Phillips and Caitlin O’Neill would each collect three hits as four other Dolphins recorded two hits each highlighted by Danielle VanGroder’s four RBI’s. Le Moyne would put the game out of each in the top of the fifth with four runs on four Dolphin hits. Sarah Reed would pick up the win in the circle as she pitched four-plus innings, allowing three runs on five hits. Jennifer Farrelly would pitch the final 2.2 innings in relief to secure the victory.

Game two would belong to Jenna Vanacore as she shut down the Molloy attack in order with a perfect game. The Dolphins would score early once again, plating two runs in the second inning using two Molloy errors. Kelly Schweikert’s two-run homerun in the third would be more than enough as the Dolphins cruised to the 9-0 victory.

Le Moyne returns to action on Tuesday, March 25th as they travel to take on C.W. Post at 2:30 PM in a doubleheader.
